| i kinda like the rear spoiler rule... dont know why, just think it would be cool.... also i think u might want to change the track record for the mini stocks as kedrin broke it last year...actually i broke the record then kedrin qualified right after me and went alittle faster.. i wasn't even back to my pit yet!!!

I would like to update all of the records BUT I have not been able to get that information as of yet. If you or anyone out there knows the times let me know. Of course it will have to be double checked before being added.
Thanks
Wes

| I like the idea of the rear spoiler to, most hatchbacks come with one and would not be hard to add one to a notchback. I don’t think the track records from 2007 should hold up due to the cars were not properly checked out and if the cars are legal they will have no problem setting the track record again. The one rule I do not like is the weight rule only because if we ever rain out I would like to go try another track and all other tracks do not allow you to add weight and due to limited space I have my weight under my seat so I would have to take my seat out to get the weight out then again to put it back in. People are less likely to come to Angola for that reason also most minis don’t have an idea of what their car weighs and usually build them as light as possible. Sorry for the rambling just some things on my mind.

| The weight rule idea is a good one, every track that runs mini should have one. Many people lighten their cars up to a point where they are unsafe. A minimum weight rule will curb such a practice. Also with weight rule the weight can be distributed properly in the car so the will be better balanced. A better balanced car = better handling = better racing. As far as the spoiler goes, if you do not have a rear windshield in the air is not going to hit the spoiler effectively. They will look cool, but that is about it. I t will probably cause the cars to push more than anything. Just my two cents!

| New Paris is suppose to adding a weight rule to the minis for the 08 season. I really dont like the idea, but they seem to think it will tighten up the racing. I am all for a pound per cc rule. That is the only way a weight rule works properly.

| The forum is really getting to be educational. This being our first car build we are doing all kinds of research in the various aspects of it. In regards to the rear spoiler, not only the air coming down off the greenhouse area, but also from along the sides has effect on downforce and drag. Too much downforce actually makes a car loose in the front. Another consideration is replacing the air being pushed out of the wheelwells, downforce can also be achieved by redirecting the air under the rear deck of the car.

| I'd like to hear anybody's opinion on fuel cell placement. I s it better centered or more towards the left considering the change in weight as fuel is used?

| You can place the fuel cell where you like. You Can shift it to the left and gain a little bit of left side, but if you run a 8 gallon cell you can only rely on 5 gal as a constant (30 lbs.). I usually dont burn any more than 3 gallon per night. You really can't shift it far enough to make a huge difference, but a slight difference. To comment on the weight rule... I don't believe the lightening of the car is making it unsafe, rather the quality of the cage and rail systems being installed in the cars is what needs to be looked at. Most cars can make the #2300 lb. weight rule. If the problems lie in the lightening of the cars, then that may just be why some tracks are not letting the fivestar template and fiberglass bodied cars run. The weight rule is a definate advantage to those who know where to place it, so a weight rule only allows the experienced driver to cut more out and add where needed or just simply add the weight in all the right spots. The Old rules never allowed the weight to be added in the first place, so if it was found, you would be disqualified for trying to gain an unfair advantage by getting your car scaled and dialed in when this class started as a beginners class and has truely evolved as a very competitive full blown racing division. It would be nice to be allowed to let race cars be race cars and if we find speed within the rules, so what. Thats why we race to have fun and go as fast as we can while following a set of guide lines. If it ain't in the rules, it ain't cheatin'... Weight rule, Ok...I'm up for going faster!! Jamison P.s. Spoilers look cool and if the fans like em' run em"!!

Look at General Rules #16 Letter E.
If the rules don't specifically say you can ---- then you can't!! Ask before you try!!
This has been in the rules for a long time!

| I was leaning towards centering the cell, and I appreciate the input,I didn't think the small amount of fuel usage would make that much difference.I totally agree with the body panel situation, with the mini's aging, to keep them nice looking,it would be a lot easier to go with the plastic. I originally bought a car ready to race for next year, but after cutting the cage out because of some welds I wasn't happy with,I found all kinds of problems in the car. I kept all the good stuff, got rid of the car and started over. Safety first, handling second, then hopefully the speed will follow. It's like the man said, let's follow the rules and make it a drivers class, not a money thing.

| I know I am looking forward to traveling to Angola for a few events this upcoming season if Hoosiers are allowed for Outlaw races. I asked about the Hoosiers for the outlaw races at the very beginning and it was a go, is this now changing Wes?

Sorry but I don't recall making that decision this early in the season! That is something that I will look at as the season gets closer. I will also take into consideration what our regulars think, I don't want to scare off 6 of the regulars to gain 3 travelers. I need to make it worth while for everyone!

| I opened a discussion about the topic on the forum. I know I originally discussed this with you in a PM when this forum was first opened. Thanks for the consideration.
