This site, while heavy on photos from Oswego NY, does have a good collection of Ohio and Michigan driver photos as well.

Rear-Engined Supers were banned in 1980, in a political move. It is a long, long story about Jimmy Shampine and his "pusher", as they were called. There were many of them, alot were old Indy 500 Cars converted to fit the rules at that time. The creations were awesmome, and deep down inside the Fall 1980 Rulebook at Oswego, barely visable, was a small one-liner squib saying the engine must be in front of the driver.
And that right there outlawed every single rear engine creation around at that time, all that talant and chassis down the drain.

Is the MSA still around anymore?
Saw them at Ft Wayne 5 years ago, but can't find 'em.
Saw the West Coast Supermodifieds at the Las Vegas 3/8 mile Bullring about 4 years ago, where my Folks live, and havn't seen them since.
Anyone?
