| The custom 428's were a good tire for maybe 2 to 3 weeks before we had to replace them because the side walls weren't very stiff at all. I dont like tire rules because it limits which tracks you can run. Why should I go out and spend $200 for a set of tires to be able to run at 1 track once?

TMill45... I have to disagree with the comment on the 428s -- Alot of our racers were able to get the entire season out of the tires. I think maybe it had to do with your setup.

| we no longer have to run a "spec" radial from smith enterprise.. as long as they are within the sizes listed in the rules and no recaps, hoosier, McCreary, or aftermarket "made for racing" tires, even if dot approsed so as long as they are a radial and 70 or 80 series 195 or smaller or 75 series 215 or smaller you should be legal...

| Every track I have been to has not enforced every rule in the book. By this happening it has allowed drivers to learn whats being looked at and whats not. Thats why this class is where it is today. Now there is discussion about pulling the valve cover, or checking compression. I think we all know this isnt going to happen. Time is valuable on racing night, so taking the time to look over everything like its supposed to is going to be a rare occasion. Dont get me wrong, I agree its the right way, but just wont happen.
