 |
|
| I am very new to Angola Motor Speedway, having only run 2 shows last season. I raced there in July with the sun shining and the temps high, then ran there on a wet weekend at the end of August. My question is, " How many times in a year on average do you race on the track and have to worry about the seeping water in the turns"? This made for some very hard times in that fall race last year and had it not been for that element, we would have had some awesome racing!! I was just curious at to how many races were run last season in '07 with those conditions? Thanks for your time..Jamison

Wow... what a question! I am going to guess that "those conditions" only happen when it has rained prior to the event. I think a large portion of the tracks in the world have to deal with this type of issue at some time or another. Look at California with NASCAR this past weekend.
We have dealt with these issues in the past (not sure what Craig did last year) with concrete filler to help absorb the water.

| Wes, one thing you can do that is fairly inexpensive is pour hot rubber in the cracks to help slow the seepage down. This has been a very hard winter on asphalt. The cracks have probably gotten a little worse I would say. The bad thing with concrete filler is it cracks and comes up. Let me know if I can help.

| When I was racing there the track would seep after it rained like Wes said, when it seeped real bad they would work on it until they thought it was safe enough they did a fine job when they did. They would resurface the track once a year also that seemed to have slowed the seepage also. GOOD LUCK BRANDON in 08 Hope you can get the big one

| Thanks alot, we've been working on the car hoping to make it faster. But there is alot of really good competition. I can't wait I'm really starting to get itchy I wish we could race right now.

| Thanks Brandon -- we will see what it looks like when the weather breaks. We may have to try your idea!
